I swallow the seed of
curiosity to find myself
tumbling through the fog
of my screensaver
into the dark ages -
down a hole, infinite,
plunging head first,
my flailing, marshmallowy
limbs waving farewell
to silverfish scuttling
inside the pages of my face
book.

White Rabbit,
you lead me eyes wide
to the fantastic, away
from this everyday motif
of duties for the greater good.
I am munching mushrooms,
flexing mercurial nerves to
become giant then dwarf,
aloft then squat,
cat-talking, sword-wielding;
playing monsters that go
gibberish-jabberish wock.

The Queen has my head
so I can’t think straight,
stumbling without faculty,
lost within four walls
typing this with vigour,
punching out words
till they are blue black
as furious and bruised
as I am; in my vendetta,
I become, mad hatter,
spurned, anonymous vigilante,
trying to right a wrong, Knave,
the plague you inflict in me.

Grace Chia, in "Cordelia", pages 88 and 89, edition Ethos Books, Singapore, 2012.

* My simple translation, trying not to denigrate the poetics and the plot of the story, in the relevance of the user addiction of this virtual world, through facebook.

@lice

Engulo a semente da
curiosidade de me encontrar
deambulando pela bruma
da minha protecção de tela
para a idade das trevas -
afundei num buraco, infinito,
mergulhando a cabeça primeiro,
agitando, no lodo dum pântano
removendo os membros
entre peixes prateados correndo
no interior das páginas da face
livro (facebook).

Coelho Branco,
leva-me os olhos bem abertos
para o fantástico, longe
deste quotidiano motivo
de deveres para um bem maior.
Estou devorando cogumelos,
flexiono os nervos mercuriais
na dimensão entre anã e gigante,
agachando-me de seguida,
voz de gato, espada empunhada;
e os monstros vão jogando
palavras sem nexo.

A Rainha possui-me a mente
e assim não consigo raciocinar,
tropeçando inconscientemente,
perdida entre quatro paredes
mas digitando tudo com vigor,
escavarei outras palavras
até que todos fiquem arroxados
de tão furiosos e magoados
como estou; na minha vingança,
me transformo, loucura extrema,
desprezada, vigilante anónima,
tentando corrigir o erro, Valete,
da praga que você infligiu em mim.
